Pursuit
News release from NBPD. On 08-02-15 at approx. 1500 hours, North Bend Officers responded to a residence in North Bend searching for a man Wanted for failing to appear on charges of Rape 3 and Sex Abuse 2. Following a tip that a James Merchant DOB: 06-19-1994 of Coos Bay was at the North Bend residence. Officers surveilled the residence and observed Mr. Merchant leave the residence with another male later identified as Nicholas Braafladt DOB: 11-20-1992 in a small white SUV. The surveilling Officer coordinated with officers from North Bend P.D. and Coos Bay P.D. Mr. Merchant who was operating the vehicle stopped in the area Alder and 12th St in Coos Bay and led officers on a foot pursuit. Mr. Braaafladt was located by Officers blocks away and was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct and Probation Violation. With the assistance from nearby residents, a backyard was pointed out to Officers. Searching the backyard, Mr. Merchant was located hiding under a deck and was taken into custody. Mr. Merchant was charged with the outstanding Warrant, Escape 3 and Criminal Trepass 2. Additional charges are being referred to the District Attorney’s Office reference a third party involved for Hindering Prosecution.

According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Thursday, July 30, 2:41 p.m., Broadway & Virginia, “male calling 911 unknown problem,” 29-year old Jesse M. Stout charged with Criminal Trespass and Carrying a Concealed Weapon (Dagger). Transpoorted to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Thursday, July 30, 2:59 p.m., Mesquite PD, NV served NBPD warrants on 48-year old Shelly Renee Atkinson charging nine-counts of ID Theft, 10-counts Theft , 10-counts Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Theft I, five-counts of Theft II, three-counts of Theft III, Unlawful Possession of Meth, and two-counts of Unlawful Possession Meth, and Probation Violation – Possession Meth. Also, 42-year old Jon Paul Corby charged with nine-counts of ID Theft, 10-counts of Aggravated ID Theft, 10-counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Theft I, five-counts Theft II, three-counts Theft III, and Theft I and Theft II.
Shoplifter
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Thursday, July 30, 7 p.m., 1900 block Meade Ave., “RP reported shoplifter from South Coast Hospice Thrift Store,” 36-year old Travis White, North Bend, charged with Probation Violation and Theft. Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Friday, July 31, 8:26 a.m., Virginia & Meade, “officer out with male,” 22-year old Taylor Lee Mauck arrested on NBPD warrant charging Assault IV & Strangulation.

According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Friday, July 31, 11:19 a.m., “Coquille PD served NBP warrant,” 33-year old Jason Joseph Keleman, Coquille, charged with Failure to Appear on original charge of Criminal Trespass II, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct II.
Parked
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Saturday, August 1, 2:38 a.m., Union & Washington, “officer out with 2 subjects, suspicious vehicle. Both parties warned for Public Indecency and Violation of City Ordinances.” Male 34-years of age, and female 25-years of age “Involved/Contacted.”

Kutsch arrested on NBPD warrant charging Failure to Appear on Interfere and Resisting charges. Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Sunday, Aug. 2, 12:07 a.m., 2400 block Broadway, “RP advised subject threw something at her vehicle,” 31-year old Troy Irick, Coos Bay, charged with Criminal Mischeif II, three-counts Reckless Endanger and Probation Violation. Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.
