The open house to discuss a striping plan for U.S. 101 is now scheduled for Monday, Nov. 20 from 6 p.m. at the Harbor Rural Fire Protection District, 98069 West Benham Lane. The event was postponed in August due to Chetco Bar fire. The U.S. 101 striping plan would remove a northbound travel lane and add a center turn lane. ODOT proposes this solution until funding can be secured to rebuild and widen the highway to accommodate two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane and wider shoulders. This striping solution resulted from citizen feedback received during the U.S. 101 Corridor Plan open house held December 2016 at the same location. For more information about the U.S. 101 Corridor Plan, please contact ODOT Senior Planner Tom Guevara at 541-957-3692. To request an accommodation to participate in this open house, please call Christie Meacham at (541) 957-3698 or call statewide relay at 7-1-1 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
