FOREST GROVE, Oregon — The Oregon State Parks and Recreation Commission will convene its first meeting of the year Feb. 19-20 in Forest Grove. On Feb. 19, commissioners will tour Stub Stewart State Park, followed by a work and training session from 12:30 – 4 p.m. at the park. Feb. 20 the commission will convene an executive session at 8:15 a.m. at the McMenamins Grand Lodge, 3505 Pacific Ave., Forest Grove, to discuss real estate and legal issues. Executive sessions are closed to the public. A business meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be open to the public. Notable requests on the business meeting agenda: Approve just under $430,000 in grant funding to be distributed among four projects that qualify for the County Opportunity Grant Program (COGP), which funds projects at county park and recreation sites that provide camping facilities. Approve updated rules for two Heritage Division grant programs: the Certified Local Government and the Preserving Oregon grant programs.
