The Oregon State softball team (17-5) defeated Longwood University (2-9) Wednesday evening in the first game of the Outrigger Hawaii Spring Fling Tournament. The Beavers scored four runs in the top of the seventh on the way to a 7-3 victory. The win extends the OSU winning streak to seven games. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader against host Hawaii was rained out and will not be made up. Oregon State will return to the field this afternoon, Thursday, March 5 at 3 p.m. PT for the first of two games against East Carolina this week.

Kyle Nobach tallied four hits and Jeff Hendrix, Gabe Clark and Joe Gillette all hit home runs to send the Oregon State baseball team to a 14-2 win over Portland Wednesday afternoon at Joe Etzel Field. The win marked Oregon State’s 22nd straight over the Pilots, setting a new school record for the most consecutive victories over one opponent. The previous record was 21 straight over the Pilots from 1959-69. OSU now returns home for a four-game series against Fresno State that begins at 5:35 p.m. PT at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
