Oregon belted out 19 hits and the No. 2 Ducks defeated No. 18 California, 17-1, on Sunday in five innings to sweep the series in front of a second straight sellout crowd of 1,644 at Howe Field. The Ducks outhit the Bears 40-10 and outscored them 31-3 in the series. The Ducks improved to 44-5 (19-2 Pac-12) with their 14th straight win. Cal dropped to 35-16 (7-14) with the loss. Oregon is now 17-5 against top-25 foes this season and has won 11 straight against ranked opponents. The Ducks close out the regular season with a three-game series at Arizona starting Thursday in Tucson, Ariz.

Oregon’s typically reliable back of the bullpen had a rare misstep Sunday, allowing four runs over the final two innings as Stanford came from behind to win 6-5 at PK Park and avoid being swept by the Ducks (27-20, 9-12 Pac-12). The Ducks play at Oregon State on Tuesday (7 p.m., Pac-12 Networks).

Caleb Hamilton hit a home run, KJ Harrison drove in two and Travis Eckert allowed just three hits in 7 2/3 innings as Oregon State defeated Washington, 4-1, to close out and take the three-game series Saturday at Husky Ballpark. Oregon State returns home for non-conference action Tuesday when hosting Oregon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. An offensive outburst lifted the Oregon State softball team to a 14-8 victory over No. 20 Washington Sunday afternoon in Seattle Wash. The Beavers will close out Pac-12 play Monday evening, when they play game three of the series with Washington at 7 p.m.
