He had no license or insurance, but did have a statewide felony warrant.” Thirty-one year old George William Hough, Bandon, arrested and dark green Jeep Cherokee impounded and towed by Mast Bros. Nov. 30, 7:35 p.m., 12th St. & Broadway Ave., North Bend, 21-year old David Alan Norton, North Bend, stopped for traffic violation, “found to be driving uninsured. Vehicle impounded. Prior to leaving the scene NORTON called 911 to complain about the impound. Multiple North Bend PD officers responded to the 911 call. I then arrested NORTON for Improper Use of 911 Reporting System.” Black Toyota 4-Runner impounded and towed by Morin’s Towing. Dec. 1, 11:22 a.m., Koos Bay Blvd. & Thompson Road, Coos Bay, 62-year old Austin Danny Firkins, Coos Bay, “stopped for multiple violations, found to be driving without operator’s license or insurance.” Gray/red Chevrolet impounded and towed by Mast Bros.

Motor vehicle accidents covered by the Oregon State Police. Nov. 26, 2 p.m., Hwy. 42 & Coaledo Road, Toyota 4-Runner struck center concrete median flattening both driver side tires. Thirty-four year old Angelee Eleanor Kenyon, Myrtle Pt., was warned for Failure to Drive Within Lane. Vehicle towed by Mast Brothers. Nov. 27, 4:33 p.m., Hwy. 101 & Medohill Road, Bandon, dark green Saturn, northbound, unable to maintain control during a curve. No injuries. Driver 22-year old Stephan Gentrell Forbes Jr., Langlois. Nov. 27, 5:46 p.m., Hwy. 101 at Millington, Coos Bay, silver/aluminum Chevrolet CLD attempted to enter Hwy. 101 from Millington Frontage Road and vehicle left roadway sideswiping a utility pole. Driver, 86-year old Vernon Ray Owen, Coos Bay, claimed a black passenger van ran him off the roadway. Non-injury. Nov. 27, 6:39 p.m., Hwy. 101, Coos Bay, 72-year old Diane Dudley Hawk, Grants Pass, lost control of a silver/aluminum Toyota Prius on wet pavement while attempting to negotiate a curve. Vehicle hit guard rail, no injuries. Vehicle driven from scene. Nov. 30, 5:32 a.m., Hwy. 101, mp 233, North Bend, 35-year old Jennifer Desiree Anderson, Reedsport, eastbound on TransPacific Hwy., “failed to see the stop sign due to dense fog. The vehicle crossed Highway 101 and struck the guardrail causing extensive damage to the guardrail and the vehicle. Driver uninjured. Silver/aluminum Honda Accord towed by Litsis Trucking & Towing.

DUII
A silver/aluminum Suzuki VRN was totaled Nov. 29, 1:18 a.m., after the northbound vehicle on Hwy. 101, drove into a median near the Hwy. 241 (Coos River Hwy.) intersection and struck a support pole for the traffic lights. According to an OSP report, 32-year old Mario Raul Contreras Ruiz, Coos Bay, suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment. “He was exhibiting signs of impairment and smell strongly of the odor of an alcoholic beverage, and admitted to consuming two beers at the Bachelor’s Inn.” He failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUII and Criminal Mischief for striking the pole. He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille and his wife’s vehicle was towed.

DUII
A 32-year old Coos Bay woman was charged with DUII following a traffic stop at No. 3rd St. and Commercial Ave. in Coos Bay, Nov. 30, 1:25 a.m. According to an OSP report, Megan Rose Vanderlinde “was exhibiting signs of impairment and a moderately strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from her person.” She was transported to the Coos Bay Police Dept. “The extremely intoxicated male adult passenger was released to a sober licensed adult who responded to secure the vehicle.” The driver was cited and released to a sober licensed adult.
