The three-day OSAA 3A Basketball Tournament wrapped up Saturday night at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay with De LaSalle North Catholic winning the boy’s championship, and Dayton winning the girl’s crown for the third time in four years.  The No. 1 Knights had been runners-up for three-years in a row, but this year’s became the team’s first state champions with a 68-55 win over defending state champion Dayton.  The Pirates girls team had to overcome No. 1 Salem Academy 35-26 to take the championship.  Dayton was runner-up last year, but won the championship the two previous seasons.  The OSAA has announced the 3A Tourney will return to the Bay Area for the next four year cycle.
