North Bend captured the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 5A Boys State Track & Field Team Championship Saturday at Mt. Hood CC in Gresham. The Bulldogs tallied 72.50-points to beat runners-up Ashland with 65. North Bend had two individual champions and a first play short relay team to highlight their run. Individual Bulldog scoring: SP – 5 Kobe Johnson 50-05.75; Jav – 1 Ty Hampton 213-11; PV – 4 Jacob Lang 13-00; TJ – 3 Teron Catanzaro 42-08; 4x100R – 1 (Teron Tatanzaro, Jake Posey, Martin Godinez, Jonathan Chilcote) 43.13; 100 – 1 Jonathan Chilcote 10.98; 6 Jake Posey 11.39; 400 – 4 John Efraimson 50.95; 200 – 4 Chilcote 22.96; 5 Posey 22.98; Dis – 3 Hampton 160-07; 4 – Hunter Bierce 154-02. North Bend’s girls finished fifth (30), North Salem won with 119. The Bulldogs were led by junior Chelsea Howard who won the TJ (36-07.25), LJ (17-11.75), and placed seventh in the 100 (12.87). Junior Annika Strasman was fifth in the Discus (110-11), and senior Haley Snelgrove took fifth in the High Jump (5-01).
