Oregon State was unable to overcome an early deficit, as North Carolina came away with an 8-6 win Saturday afternoon in the opening game of the College World Series in Omaha, Neb. The Beavers (49-11-1) will return to action at 11 a.m. PT on Monday, ESPN, in an elimination game against Washington. Mississippi State beat the Huskies 1-0.
