Head coach Gary Andersen announced Wednesday a chance for Oregon State University students to give it a shot with a tryout to join the Beavers’ football program next week. Interested students can meet at the Merritt Truax Indoor Practice Facility Monday, Aug. 29 at 12:30 p.m. to put their football skills on display. Students should bring workout clothes and cleats (helmets and pads will not be needed). Requirements to try out follow: Must have physician completed physical exam, insurance and medical history form. Must provide proof of sickle cell trait testing. Must be a full-time enrolled student in good standing at Oregon State University. Must have NCAA Division I eligibility remaining. In order to participate, a scanned copy of your physical, insurance and medical history forms, along with a screen shot with your university status MUST be emailed to Vince Guinta (vince.guinta@oregonstate.edu) by 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26. The Beavers open the season Thursday, September 1 at Minnesota at 6 p.m. PDT in a game that will be televised by the Big Ten Network. The seven-game home schedule starts Saturday, September 17 vs. Idaho State at 2 p.m. on the Pac-12 Network. Single game tickets for the Oregon game go on sale to the general public Thursday at 10 a.m. Tickets start at $66.
