Oregon State’s volleyball team opened the 2016 collegiate season with a couple of wins and one loss at home in Gill Coliseum this past weekend. The Beavers downed Utah State Friday, 3-2, but lost 3-2 to the University of Portland later in the day. On Saturday, OSU bettered Seattle 3-0. This Friday, Oregon State (2-1) travels to Lincoln, Nebraska Friday to play Syracuse and Saturday against the Cornhuskers. The men’s soccer team tied visiting DePaul Friday in Corvallis 1-1, and then beat Wright State on Sunday, 4-0. OSU’s men host San Jose State this Friday. The women beat visiting Stephen F. Austin Friday 2-1, but lost to Nebraska Sunday, 3-1. OSU next hosts North Texas on Friday, Sept. 2.
