On Wednesday, March 14, 2019 at approximately 9:20 P.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle crash on Hwy 97 near milepost 108. Preliminary investigation revealed that a CMV stopped on the northbound shoulder and the operator exited the vehicle and attempted to cross Hwy 97. A southbound Chevrolet, operated by Megan Kelly (28) of Bend, OR, struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Name will be released when next of kin has been notified. Kelly was transported to St. Charles in Bend.
