On November 25, 2015, at about 5PM, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a motor vehicle on Highway 224 at milepost 12 (just east of Interstate 205 in Happy Valley). Preliminary information indicates an adult male was walking in the eastbound lanes of Highway 224 when he was struck by an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet pickup. The pedestrian was thrown onto the shoulder and the involved driver called 911. This location of Highway 224 is an unlit, rural highway with one eastbound lane and one westbound lane divided by a double yellow line. The pedestrian was wearing dark colored clothing. Evidence indicates the pedestrian was in the lane of travel when struck. Next of kin for the deceased has not yet been made.
