The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division is seeking the public’s assistance with an ongoing investigation in southern Oregon. On August 29, 2015, Oregon State Troopers from the Roseburg Area Command received a report of a an elk shot and left to waste in the Panther Creek area off Highway 42 near the Coos and Douglas County line. Troopers responded to the area and found a four point bull elk that had been shot with a firearm in the stomach and left to waste. The bull elk appeared to have been shot and left sometime within the past week. This is the third bull elk that has been shot in the area and left to waste since May.
