Laguna Beach, CA and Crook Co. won titles at the 18th annual Prefontaine/Rotary Invitational Track Meet at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay Saturday.  Thirty-three teams from Oregon and California participated in the day-long meet that saw two meet records fall by North Bend athletes.  Jonathan Chilcote reset the record in the 100 meters with an 11.15 clocking.  The Bulldog junior also won the 200 (22.92) and anchored the winning 4X100 Relay team (43.93) to earn Outstanding Male Runner.  Chelsea Howard set the other meet record.  The North Bend sophomore soared 17-11.25 to establish a new record in the Long Jump.  She was named the Outstanding Female Jumper.  Laguna Beach (105) made the trip to Oregon’s Bay Area from Southern California.  They won the girl’s meet over Marshfield (69) and North Bend (61).  Crook Co. (100) squeaked out a two-point win over the host Pirates (98) with North Bend (91.5) third.  Marshfield and North Bend will participate in the 110th Annual Coos Co. Meet on Tuesday at MHS.  Other Outstanding Athletes were:  Male Thrower – Hunter Bierce, NB, won the Discus (147-0) & third in the Shot Put (47-04); Girls Thrower – Kenna Woodward Crook Co. who won the Shot Put (39-03) with a two-foot PR, and 7th in the Discus (95-05).  Justin Hall of Pacific was the Outstanding Male Jumper in winning the Triple Jump (42-00), but he also added a win in the High Hurdles (15.89).  Lizzi Dolan of McKinleyville was the Outstanding Female Runner in winning the 100 (12.92), 100 Hurdles (16.03), 300 Hurdles (47.05) and was part of the 2nd place 4X100 Relay Team (52.07).
