Marshfield’s boys placed 8th at the Paul Mariman Invitational Cross Country meet in Philomath Saturday. The host Warriors took first place followed by Sisters and Siuslaw. Senior Aaron Prince led the Pirates with an 11th place finish in 16:48.85. John Peckham of Sisters was the overall winner in 16:17.83. Marshfield’s girls were sixth while Marist Catholic took first followed by Siuslaw and Philomath. Senior Kaylee Delzotti led the Lady Pirates with a 15th place finish in 20:33.84. Hannah Hernandez of Philomath won the race in 18:28.74. Marshfield runs at the Warner Pacific XC Classic at Portland on Saturday, Oct. 19. North Bend ran on Wednesday at the Umpqua Invite, Stewart Park in Roseburg. The Bulldog boys were second to Roseburg in the team race. Freshman Alexander Garcia-Silver was second overall in 16:10. Zachary Traul, of Roseburg, won in 15:39. North Bend was also second to Roseburg in the girl’s team race. Junior Celeste Sinko led the Bulldog girls with a 7th place finish in 21:06. Eliza Eckman of Roseburg won in 19:07. North Bend will also run at the Warner Pacific XC Classic Saturday in Portland.
