Marshfield’s boys were 11th overall in the Bronze Division at the Warner Pacific Classic Cross Country Invitational at Lent Park in Portland Saturday. The Pirates tallied 289 points, while Mtn. View out of Bend was first with 82. Marshfield senior Aaron Prince led the way with a seventh place finish (17:07.19). Ben Kirby of Stayton won in 16:45.42. The Marshfield girls (260 pts.) were also 11th. Tillamook won with 84 points. Senior Kaylee Delzotti led the Lady Pirates with a sixth place finish in 20:36.21. Sara Abbott of Sprague won in 19:22.34. Marshfield has one more meet before District (Oct. 31) at the Country Fair Meet at Veneta on Wednesday, Oct. 23. North Bend’s boys ran in the Silver Division and placed 25th (554 pts.). South Salem took first with 132 pts. Bulldog freshman Alexander Garcia-Silver was fifth (16:34.16). Zachary Traul, Roseburg, was first in 16:13.65. North Bend’s girls were 16th (370 pts.) as Siuslaw took first 95 pts. Junior Celeste Sinko led the Bulldogs with 50th place, 21:30.85. Sophomore Eliza Eckman, Roseburg, took first in 18:58.92. North Bend will also run at the Country Fair Classic on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
