Boat Basin Rd., CCSO release – On May 1, 2019, at about 1150 hours, Deputies from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Coast Guard housing located at 63584 Boat Basin Road in Charleston. The Sheriff’s Office had received reports a female was in one of the tenant’s laundry room, had strewn clothing around and had taken some of the clothing with her when she left. Upon arrival, a deputy recognized 46 year old Garnet Stewart-Gebhardt. Upon trying to stop Gebhardt, she did not follow lawful commands to stop, and then resisted the Deputie’s efforts to place her into custody. Gebhardt was ultimately arrested and after an investigation she was transported to the Coos County Jail. Gebhardt was lodged and is alleged to have committed the crimes of Interfering with a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, Theft 3 and two counts of Criminal Trespass II. Additionally, a probation violation detainer was placed upon Gebhardt by Coos County Parole and Probation. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Coquille Tribal Police and Bureau of Land Management Law Enforcement Officers.
