News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On August 19, 2014 at about 8:45 PM, Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft complaint located near the 7000 block of N Highway 101 in Gleneden Beach. The victim reported that somebody took her purse from the above location. A report was filed pending further suspect information. On August 20, 2014 at 12:52 AM, Deputies responded to a fight in progress near the 500 block of N Highway 101 in Depoe Bay. While investigating the disturbance, information related to the earlier theft report was developed. An investigation revealed that a subject at the location identified as, Devan D. Walbert, 32 years of age, from Depoe Bay, took the purse. Deputies conducted a consent search of Walbert’s vehicle and located the stolen purse and methamphetamine. Walbert was placed into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Walbert was charged with Theft II and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Walbert was booked and lodged at the jail where she was held on $65,000 bail.
