A 2.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded near Cape Mendocino Sunday, Oct. 1, where two fault lines begin that run parallel with the Oregon Coast. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located in the Pacific Ocean southwest of Ferndale, CA.
