News release CBPD. Missing Person: Gary Allen Lortie, Date Last Seen: 04/16/2017, Age: 67, Sex: Male, Race: Caucasian, Height: 5’ 11”, Weight: 230 lbs., Eyes: Bro, Hair: White. CIRCUMSTANCES: The Coos Bay Police Department is seeking community assistance in locating Gary Allen Lortie. On Sunday 04/16/17 Mr. Lortie went missing after he left Bay Area Hospital around 1:03 p.m. Mr. Lortie left the hospital on foot and against medical advice. Bay Area Hospital’s video surveillance system showed Mr. Lortie leaving the property at 1:03 p.m. A couple additional sightings of Mr. Lortie were reported in the area of Teakwood Ave, and Koos Bay Blvd. and again around the 700 block of Koos Bay Blvd. These sightings are unconfirmed sightings however; suggest he was in those areas between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Mr. Lortie was last seen wearing a tan colored suit style jacket, a multicolored button up shirt, dark colored pants, and black shoes. Mr. Lortie is reported to walk with a limp and is said to frequent casinos in the area. Mr. Lortie may be in need of some serious medical attention and suffers from diabetes.
