A “Civil War” game with real bowl implications, a visit from an Oregon and NFL football standout and the official launch of sports betting on the South Coast will be part of a special Saturday at The Mill Casino • Hotel & RV Park. Game day activities at The Mill will begin at noon Saturday, Nov. 30. Game time has been set for 1 p.m. and the game will be shown on monitors throughout the casino. The Mill’s annual Civil War game activities will have an added attraction when University of Oregon and NFL running back Reuben Droughns will be on hand to visit with guests and give away autographed prizes during the game. Prizes include signed footballs and signed Oregon and Oregon State jerseys. Playing for Oregon in the late 1990s, Droughns gained 2,058 yards during his college career and ranks sixth among the Ducks’ all-time rushing leaders. He was a third-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions in 2000 and also played for the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants where he scored the game-winning touchdown in final seconds of the NFC championship that led to the Giants’ winning appearance in Super Bowl XLII. Trained staff members will be available at The Mill’s new sports betting kiosks to answer guest questions. The Mill recently became the second Oregon casino to offer a sport betting option to its guests. From noon. to 5 p.m. DJ Darryl will be playing music and giving away a variety of prizes including two sets of Oregon and Oregon State pom poms.
