The Bureau of Land Management Coos Bay District is issuing a revised emergency closure of public lands in Curry County, Oregon. This closure affects public lands within and adjacent to the Chetco Bar Fire, on lands administered by the BLM. The emergency closure has been limited to the fire perimeter. Motorized and non-motorized travel, including foot traffic, is prohibited in the closed area. The BLM is committed to keeping public landscapes healthy and productive. This closure is necessary to ensure public safety from the continued risk of falling trees, landslides, and moving rocks and logs. The BLM will post closure signs at main entry points to the area. This closure will remain in effect until May 31, 2018. The Chetco Bar Fire was reported on July 12, 2017, and encompasses 6,501 acres of BLM lands. The fire has burned a total of 191,090 acres and is 98 percent contained. https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/5385/  A copy of the closure order and maps is attached and can be found at www.blm.gov/news/oregon-washington
