The unemployment rate in Coos County during the month of July was 7.7% according to figures released by the Oregon Employment Dept. The jobless rate the prior month was7.3%, while a year ago the rate was 9.1% . In Curry Co., the unemployment rate for July was 8.8%, up from June’s 8.3%, but still lower than the 10.4% in July of 2014. Oregon’s unemployment rate was 5.9% in July, up from the 5.5% in June, but less than the 7.0% a year earlier.
