SWOCC news release. Southwestern Oregon Community College’s (SWOCC) Laker Alumni Association honors former athletes, teams, coaches, and those that have had a large impact on the school and its athletic program during the annual Homecoming celebrations. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Activities will start off with a noon luncheon followed by a special recognition inducting two teams and one individual during the Men’s and Women’s home wrestling matches that afternoon in Prosper Hall. The First Men’s Wrestling Team (1963-64) was coached by Gary Feasel and Dennis Radford*. Members of the team were David Bryan*, Phil Button, Gary Combs*, Al Elfstrom, Larry Fallert*, Bill Hansen*, Bill Jones*, Wayne Larsen*, Larry Mikulecky, Mike Olin, Joe Robison, Steven Slaymaker, Dan Stowe, George Tamlin and Fred Williams*. The Tennis Team (1971-72) was coached by Don Burdg. Members of the team were Alice (Austin) Burns, Nancy Neff*, Marilyn Layton, Chavalit Pattamanuch, Linda Prefontaine, Cindy Round*, Denise Schrag* and Bruce Starkweather*. The Alumni Association is seeking help in locating members on each of the teams.
