The Henry L. Hillman Jr. Foundation has recently awarded Star of Hope, a non-profit organization in Coos County serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a grant of $20,000.00.  This award goes towards improvements at Star of Hope’s Cammann Street Apartments.  The project goal is to make upgrades at the Apartments that will allow some of the most vulnerable community citizens the tools to pursue their passions and ultimately age in their homes while maintaining their independence. Star of Hope embraces and embodies the principle that all people are unique and have skills and talents to contribute to society.  Further, no individual’s dreams or aspirations should be limited by preconceived notions or predetermined pathways. The Henry L. Hillman Jr. Foundation’s Mission is to inspire, invest in, and leverage great ideas and initiatives for outcomes that improve the quality of life and through this end Star of Hope shares in this vision.
