Reedsford Rd., CCSO release – On 02-25-2019, the Coos County Sheriff’s Department received a report that an individual had become stranded due to flooding on Reedsford Road in Myrtle Point. Sheriff Deputies launched a boat on Reedsford Road, and located 77 year old Gary McDaniel standing on the porch at 315 Reedsford Road with his dog. Gary McDaniel reported to have driven out the back of the fairgrounds during high water and submerged his truck. Gary McDaniel told deputies he had to swim from his truck to the elevated porch with his dog. Gary McDaniel’s vehicle was on Reedsford Road with water at hood level when deputies arrived. Deputies were able to assist Mr. McDaniel to the boat, and transported him to dry ground without further incident.
