The Oregon State Sheriffs Association has partnered with middle and high school students to produce a public service announcement highlighting SafeOregon, a school safety tip line program available to students statewide. “We are proud to work with students on this important project to promote school safety,” said Sheriff Craig Roberts, President of the Oregon State Sheriffs’ Association. “We know many kids in school may be struggling and we want them to know help is available.” The students participated in the public service announcement along with Sheriff’s from across the state. “This is one of the areas the Sheriffs have stated is a priority for our association” stated Executive Director John Bishop. The SafeOregon PSA will air in television markets throughout Oregon. SafeOregon gives kids, parents, schools and their communities a way to report safety threats or potential acts of violence.  In the two years since SafeOregon was launched, more than 3,000 tips have been received.  Students can submit safety concerns via text, call, website, or through the SafeOregon App. The SafeOregon Public Service Announcement can be viewed here:  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/w2rlsnz18iwsicv/AADtWaSRHug-CLghq7VPuZaUa?dl=0  Learn more about the Tip Line by visiting the SafeOregon website here:  SafeOregon.com
