Southwestern’s Brooks Ney is leading the Linfield Multi Event after day one. The weather was horrible yet Ney won the 100 at 11.83, the long jump at 20′ 8″ and the 400 in 43.07. He had the 2nd best throw in the Shot Put at 37′ 5″ and was 4th in the High Jump with a mark of 5′ 4 1/2″. Ney’s point total was 3087. Ney is followed by Jason Bracken from Corban university , 2nd place with 2995 points , in third place is unattached athlete Paul Bentz with 2897. On the women’s side Helene Sink is in 5th place with 2044 points. Sink ran 18.44 in the 100 hurdles, jumped 4′ 10″ threw 28′ 3″ in Shot Put and ran a 28.9 in the 200. Sink is just 10 points out of 3rd place. Elana Hampton from Clackamas CC is in first place with 2263 points and Olivia Bannerot from Linfield is in third place with 2242 points. Ney will compete in the 110 Hurdles, Discus, Pole Vault, Javelin and the 1500 Meters. Sink will have the Long Jump, Javelin and 800 Meters.
