Southwestern Oregon’s men beat the visiting Storm from Chemeketa CC in Salem 111-99 in an NWAC basketball game at Coos Bay Saturday. The Lakers (6-8, 12-14) are in sixth place in the South Standings. Portland and Linn-Benton have clinched playoff spots from the South. SWOCC hosts Linn-Benton on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 7:30 p.m. Southwestern’s women beat Chemeketa 69-49 in the opener. The Lakers (5-9, 8-17), who have won three-in-a-row, move into a tie with Chemeketa for fifth place in the South. SWOCC hosts Linn-Benton Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. in Prosper Hall.
