Southwestern Oregon’s volleyball team opens the 2016 season at the NWAC Fall Showcase in Springfield at the Willamalane Sports Complex. The Lakers are scheduled to play Pierce College at 9 a.m., Saturday, followed by Columbia Basin at 11:30 a.m., Olympic at 3:15 p.m., and Spokane at 5:45 p.m. On Sunday, SWOCC plays Lower Columbia at 10 a.m., and Bellevue at 11 a.m. The Lakers’ men’s soccer team is also in Springfield to open the season at the NWAC Fall Festival Friendlies. Southwestern plays Saturday, 11 a.m., against Edmonds. On Sunday, they’ll play Columbia Basin, 4 p.m. Southwestern’s women are at the same event. On Saturday, the Lakers take on Blue Mtn. at 1 p.m., and on Sunday, Walla Walla, 2 p.m.
