They have lost one “A” in their athletic conference’s acronym. The NWAACC (Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges) has officially changed its name, acronym, and logo for the upcoming school year. Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay is one of 35 schools, in Oregon and Washington, included as a member. Beginning with the 2014-15 school year the conference will become the NWAC (Northwest Athletic Conference). The move will reportedly make it easier for the conference in transposing their acronym and logo onto surfaces and materials used to identify and promote the conference.
