Chemeketa ended Southwestern’s volleyball season Saturday in Salem with a five-set win. The tie-breaker went the Storm’s way 18-16. The Lakers end up with a 3-7 record in the Southern Division of the NWAACC, and 10-17 overall.
Southwestern Announces Winter Sports Schedule 2013-2014
Southwestern Oregon Community College Athletic Department and Laker Nation announce GAME THEMES and events for the winter sports season. Everything from Laker Pride Night to Superheroes/Villains to canned/toy drives. We are known for having the best fans around having themed nights, offers extra fun for everyone! Dressing up with the announced theme will get you a raffle ticket that’s good for a variety of prizes that will be announced the night of the event. Please see the attached flyer for a FULL LIST OF GAMES/THEMES. Laker Admission is free for employees and SWOCC students. $4 for adults, $2 for senior citizens, military and OTHER students from high school or other colleges. Kids 12 and under are free. Tournament prices are the same (per day). Saturday, November 23rd will be the annual Women’s & Men’s Basketball vs. Alumni games as well as Men’s Wrestling vs. Clackamas. The theme for the day will be LAKER PRIDE night it will also be our Canned Food Drive for the Annual Bus Jam. Women’s Basketball will kick off at 1pm and men at 3pm. FREE ADMISSION with 2 or more cans or boxes of food gets you into both games. Men’s Wrestling will follow at 7pm. FREE ADMISSION with 2 or more cans or boxes. Friday-Sunday, December 20-22 will be the SWOCC Women’s Basketball Cross-Over Tournament. They will be doing a toy drive. Bring a toy (at least $10 value) and receive free admission for all 3 days. Wednesday, January 22nd will be the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night for Women’s and Men’s Basketball. WEAR YOUR PINK and support awareness. Half of the proceeds will go to Bree’s for local research. T-shirts will also be sold, with ALL proceeds going to Bree’s. Saturday, February 15th the local UPWARD cheerleaders will be doing a half-time performance during the women’s game. Family of the cheerleaders will receive free admission.
