Southwestern Oregon dropped a pair of men’s soccer matches over the weekend. The Lakers lost at Walla Walla 1-0 on Friday, and then lost 7-2 at Columbia Basin in Pasco, WA Saturday. SWOCC’s women’s team lost at Walla Walla Friday, 2-1, and lost 4-0 at Columbia Basin on Saturday.

Southwestern Oregon Cross Country ran the Ash Creek Cross Country Race held by Western Oregon University in Monmouth. SWOCC’s best placer was Mason Smith from Boulevard, CA. Smith ran a 20:33 for the 6K course. Brad Larsen ran 23:31 and Riley Greenfield ran 25:31. The overall winner of the event was Brady Beagley in 17:55. On the woman’s side Alexis Crellin was the top Southwestern runner at 18:02. Melissa Ortiz ran 20:32 for the 4K event. Coach Dan Neal, “We have suffered several early season injuries during training and were unable to field a full team.” The Lakers will run next week at the Northwest Classic which will be hosted by Lane CC on their campus.
