Southwestern Oregon’s volleyball team beat Skagit Valley 2-1 at the Lower Columbia NWAC Crossover Tournament in Longview, WA Friday. The Lakers then fell to the hosts Lower Columbia 2-0, before beating Big Bend 2-1. On Saturday, SWOCC beat Umpqua 3-2, before losing to Pierce 3-0, and Umpqua 2-0. Southwestern (9-10) plays at Mt. Hood in Gresham Friday, 6:30p.m., and then at Clark College in Vancouver, WA Saturday, 1p. Visiting Lane beat SWOCC’s women 3-1 in an NWAC soccer match at Coos Bay Saturday. The Lakers (0-2-1, 0-3-2) host Clark College Saturday, Sept. 22, noon, in Coos Bay. Southwestern’s men beat Lane at home Saturday 2-1. SWOCC (1-0-1, 3-0-1) plays at Chemeketa in Salem on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2:30 p.m., and then hosts Clark College on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2:30 p.m.
