The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into a shooting which occurred on 05-08-18, in the 500 Block of Degnath Gateway Lane, Tenmile, Oregon. The Detective’s Division is looking into a claim that the shooting was done in self-defense. The investigation is on-going and no further details will be released at this time. May 8th update: 57 year-old Kevin Eugene Welker was shot in the leg by his neighbor 56 year-old Kevin Dewayne Duckworth at about 6:38 a.m. Both Welker and Duckworth have been involved in an ongoing neighborhood dispute. Welker was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center and later transferred to an undisclosed hospital where he remains in critical condition.
