On Tuesday, February 14, 2017, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary which had occurred at the Roseburg Transfer Station (County Dump) located at 384 McClain West in Roseburg. An investigation revealed that sometime between the evening of Saturday, February 11th and the morning of Tuesday February 14th, a suspect had entered a building located on the transfer station property and stole a cash register and an undisclosed amount of cash. Additionally, it was learned there were approximately 10 personal checks which were made payable to Douglas County from various residents, which were also stolen. The Sheriff’s Office urges residents who visited the Roseburg Transfer Station and paid with a personal check between Thursday February 09, 2017 and Saturday, February 11, 2017 to contact their financial institution to determine if there has been any fraudulent activity. Additionally, it is encouraged that you continue to monitor your bank account and credit report for any fraudulent activity.
