News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On July 20, 2015 a deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office investigated a suspicious vehicle in Otis, reportedly stolen out of Lincoln City earlier that morning. On July 22, 2015, Benjamin Anthony Gomez, 41, of Otis, OR was contacted as a person of interest after being found in possession of an item taken out of the stolen vehicle. Gomez was detained and during a search of his person, found to be in possession of illegal drugs. Gomez was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle and Theft II, then transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on $80,000 bail. This case is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the stolen vehicle or potential suspects are asked to contact the Lincoln City Police Department or the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
