Coos County’s seasonally adjusted May unemployment rate decreased to 5.2 percent from a revised 5.4 percent in April. The rate is below this time last year (5.4%). Oregon’s seasonally adjusted May unemployment rate was 4.1 percent; the national rate was 3.8 percent. Coos County gained 80 jobs over the year ending in May for a 0.4 percent annual growth rate.  Curry County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 5.7 percent from a revised 5.9 percent in April. The rate is below the May 2017 rate of 6.0 percent. Curry County reported a gain of 230 jobs over the year ending in May.
