Saturday, April 20, 2019, 8:30 am – Coos Bay Fire Department at 450 Elrod Ave, Coos Bay. United Way of Southwestern Oregon is seeking local businesses, service clubs, families, and individuals interested in volunteering to help Bay Area seniors and persons with disabilities during our 11th Annual Day of Caring, Saturday, April 20, 2019. Volunteers will help stack wood, weed garden beds, mow lawns, clean gutters, haul trash and do other light maintenance jobs at this one-day event. Volunteers should have their own transportation and lawn tools. A BBQ lunch with door prizes will be held after work is complete. The event is sponsored by the Eugene & Marlaina Johnston Foundation, NW Natural Gas, and the Bay Area Kiwanis.
