Libby Lane, CCSO release – On Friday September 13, 2019 at approximately 2:28 pm, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies located 45 year old David Elbert and 59 year old Steven Miller on Rayonier Timber Land behind a locked gate which was clearly marked no trespassing. Elbert and Miller had illegally harvested 52 lbs of cedar boughs from Rayonier property when they were located. Miller was cited for unlawful harvest of a forest product and released at the scene. Elbert, who had previously been trespassed from Rayonier property, was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail. Ebert was charged with Unlawful Harvest of Forest Products, Criminal Trespass II and a Probation Violation. At the request of Rayonier Resources, Elbert’s vehicle was towed from Rayonier property.
