The University of Oregon’s 2004-07 cohort of student-athletes posted a 82 percent graduation success rate, according to the latest data released Tuesday by the NCAA. That rate represented a one-percent increase over the 2003-06 cohort. Thirteen UO athletic programs had a GSR above the federal rate for participants in that particular sport, led by volleyball’s rate of 100 percent. Other notable GSR’s went to women’s track & field (96 percent), lacrosse (93 percent), soccer (91 percent), softball (87 percent), tennis (86 percent) and basketball (85 percent). On the men’s side, track & field (80 percent) and basketball (73 percent) set the pace. Football, golf and tennis each posted a GSR of 70 percent. This particular cohort attended the University prior to the addition of the John E. Jaqua Academic Center for Student Athletes in 2010.
