Duck Gold
Former University of Oregon Duck track & field athletes came up with gold in the closing days of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Matthew Centrovitz, whose collegiate days was with the Ducks, like his father, won the men’s 1500. Ashton Eaton, who went to Oregon out of Mtn. View HS in Bend, won his second straight Decathlon Gold. And, Galen Rupp, a distance star for the Ducks, and an Oregon high school product out of Central Catholic in Portland, got the bronze in the Marathon Sunday. He was also fifth in the 10,000.
