Eugene’s bid for four consecutive US Olympic Trials fell short Wednesday when the Board of Directors for USA Track & Field opted for Mt. San Antonio College over Eugene and Sacramento for the 2020 meet. Oregon had hosted the meet in 2008, 2012, and 2016. However, the Board voted 11-2 for Mt. SAC. The facility is currently undergoing a $62 million upgrade that will expand seating to 21,000.
