News release CCSO.  On April 24, 2017 at approximately 8:55 pm, a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy contacted a male and a female near a vehicle on Transpacific Parkway near Highway 101, just north of North Bend.  The male and female were identified as Joey L. Handsaker and Angela L. Handsaker.  Both Mr. and Mrs. Handsaker were arrested on outstanding warrants.  Mr. Handsaker was found to be in possession of a switchblade knife as well as methamphetamine.  During the investigation, the Deputy learned that Mrs. Handsaker had a restraining order against Mr. Handsaker.  Both Joey and Angela Handsaker were arrested on their outstanding warrants and transported to the Coos County Jail.  Joey Handsaker was held in lieu of $22,500 bail for his outstanding warrants and one count of Restraining order violation.   Mr. Handsaker will be referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s office on the charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and felon in possession of a restricted weapon.  Angela Handsaker was held without bail on her outstanding warrant issued out of the State of California. Angela Handsaker’s warrants were from Del Norte County California for DUII, Failure to Appear and Probation Violation.  Mr. Handsaker’s warrants were from Coos County for Contempt of Court and Alaska State Troopers for Probation Violation.
