8th St., Lakeside, CCSO release – On February 5, 2019, Coos County Dispatch received a report of a theft which had occurred at the McKay’s Market in Lakeside, Oregon. McKay’s advised Dispatch the suspect in the theft was 35-year old Joshua Gene Mullanix, however, McKay’s declined to pursue charges against Joshua at that time. Coos County Dispatch located an active warrant for Joshua from 2013 for failing to appear in court on a Driving Under the Influence charge. Dispatch advised the Coos County Deputies of the active warrant. On February 18, 2019, at about 11:00 AM, a Coos County Deputy located a male walking near the intersection of 8th Street and Bowron Road in Lakeside fitting the description of Joshua. The Deputy asked the male if he was Joshua and the male said no and continued walking. The Deputy contacted the Mckay’s manager on duty who provided a recent photo taken of Joshua after the theft. After observing the photo provided by the Mckay’s Manager, the Deputy confirmed the male he had previously spoken to was Joshua. At about 12:10 PM, the Deputy located Joshua near the intersection of 8th Street and Park Ave, in Lakeside. Coos County Dispatch confirmed the 2013 active warrant for failing to appear for a Driving Under the Influence charge. Joshua was placed under arrest for the active warrant and a small bag of what is believed to be methamphetamine was found in his pants pocket. Joshua was transported to the Coos County Jail and booked in on the confirmed warrant. Joshua was also referred to the District Attorney’s Office for the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
