CBFD news release. January 13, 2018 – Shortly after 10:00 pm, Coos Bay Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at West Coast Recycling Center at 1210 S. Broadway St. Upon arriving at the scene and gaining access through multiple locked gates, firefighters found a fire burning in the recycling area of the facility. The fire was knocked down within two minutes, but firefighters remained on scene for just over an hour overhauling the area to ensure the fire was fully extinguished. The initial cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported. Coos Bay Fire Department was assisted on scene by Coos Bay Police Department and employees of West Coast Recycling.
