Marshfield’s four-time state prep wrestling champion Travis Wittlake Jr. won the Johnny Carpentar Athlete of the Year Award as the State of Oregon’s Outstanding Prep Wrestler. Wittlake, who graduated this year, is attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. He is the third Marshfield athlete to receive the honor. Current Pirate football coach John Lemmons and former Pirate track athlete Steve Prefontaine won the award earlier.
