A Coast Guard aircrew hoisted a woman found near the Sea Lion Caves in Florence, Oregon, Wednesday afternoon, August 16. The aircrew aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Sector North Bend hoisted the woman around 2 p.m. and transferred her to a local emergency medical service crew waiting on shore. At 1:25 p.m., a team from the Florence Police Department contacted Coast Guard Sector North Bend watchstanders, requesting assistance in hoisting the woman. A local fire department crew previously made an unsuccessful rescue attempt due to steep terrain along the shoreline. The woman had been missing since Saturday and was located by her husband. She was reportedly in stable condition at the time of the rescue.
