News release CCSO. On September 11, 2017, at about 2319 hours, Deputies were dispatched to 91568 Pemberton Lane in Coos Bay for a reported trespass. Deputies contacted the suspect, Robert Day 23 years old of Coos Bay. Robert insisted he did nothing wrong and left the property when asked to do so. Deputies contacted the parties at the residence and learned a physical altercation had taken place between Robert and his 17 year old girlfriend. Deputies were told Robert had pushed his girlfriend down on the ground and later strangled her for at least 20 seconds before other stepped in and physically pulled him off of her. While speaking with the victim, deputies learned the victim was having a sexual relationship with Robert, who is 23 and the victim who is 17. Robert was arrested for Assault IV Domestic, Strangulation and Sex Abuse III. Robert was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and held on $30,000.00 bail.
